I am pleased to introduce to you the Department of Biological Sciences, Kyambogo University. We are a team of scientists and educators dedicated to support discovery of new knowledge through research and training of individuals in Biological Sciences. Biological science is a wide field, that is why we have numerous experienced staff in different areas which include; ecology, biotechnology, conservation biology, public health/ environmental health, ethno botany, microbiology, hydrobiology, entomology, parasitology, fisheries and environment science.

Our postgraduate and undergraduate curricula are designed and continuously updated to support practical skill sets needed for job creation and technological development. These studies and our approach promote critical thinking among our students which enhances curiosity for scientific innovation and creativity in Biological Sciences. We also provide career mentorship and guidance to our students that makes them to be full graduates with crosscutting skills to fit into the evolving global system.
The academic and practical courses under the Department of Biological Sciences are relevant to fields of agriculture, medicine, life sciences, conservation, environment and sustainable development. Our graduates are employed in bio industries, government, NGOs, Schools, Scientific laboratories, national wildlife reserves, hospitals and academia.
The Department of Biological Sciences has a lot of collaboration with national and international organization. We are looking forward to more collaborations in order to achieve the objectives and goals of Kyambogo University.
