Overview:
This programme aims to develop a high calibre of research and scientific manpower equipped with knowledge, skills, attitudes, values and commitment to serve in fields of research, industry, education and Biological Sciences related disciplines as well as leadership positions. The graduates of this programme should be able to conduct independent research, transmit and communicate scientific information to the society for better standard and quality of life.
Target group:
Applicants for the doctoral programme should have a master’s degree in related fields of Biological Sciences or will likely be expected to earn a master’s degree prior to their doctoral program.
Program Duration: 3 years
Programme Structure:
This programme is by coursework and research.
The programme shall be run by fulltime mode. The programme will be conducted by students participating in methodology lectures, scheduled student seminars, and presentation of research results and dissertation report sessions. The compulsory courses are done in four semesters in year I and year II. Electives will be done in the second semester of year II. A total of Ten (10) students will be admitted per year for full time.
